In an abandoned city before a tropical storm, a woman decides to stay...
Through this film, our ambition was to portray a particular ambience and feeling more than a heavy storyline. We (Patrick Harboun, Ronan Le Fur and Joaquim Montserrat) worked on it for 6 months within our studies at Supinfocom, a French CG animation school.
The soundtrack was composed by Christophe Julien.
The film's website [link] features a lot of background information.
We hope you'll enjoy it.

Daily Deviation

Given 2009-05-17
end of summer - fin d'ete by ~Twilite9 "It's have absolutely professionaly completed 3D animation, great effects (look at the storm), look at the movements, and as owner write in a description - it was created for only 6 months by only three animators, that's phenomenale! My project was created for 10 months with team of 15 animators, think about it. This animators must have not just Daily Deviation, we must give em some cash for non stoping creating something like this! btw look at 4:00 time, that's what i talking about (the storm animation)" ( Suggested by thomasszabo and Featured by InpuUpUaut )

@05:40Wonderful. Absolutely beautiful. My one critique would be on the skin shader. She looks a bit weird. I know the rest of the animation has a very particular look to it that isn't necessarily "realism" but the skin still doesn't fit with it...

@05:40Wow, there were only three of you working on this? This is really impressive! It must have taken a tremendous amount of work, especially with such detailed and realistic environments and character.

My one critique would be that the movements of the character seem just a tad lifeless. I'm not an animator, but my roommates are, and I know how grueling it can be to animate someone. Maybe she's just a bit stiff, and doesn't react entirely to her environment. (If flying debris hit me in the face, I wouldn't flinch so little.) And I know she isn't supposed to be happy or angry or anything throughout the film, but within its sad tone it might help for her to show a different range of sad emotions, just to keep that mood from growing stagnant.

The environment, however, looks phenomenal. The storm was beautiful, of course, and I was impressed with the palm trees and the swing set- they looked real and convincing, which I know is haaaard to do.

And kudos to you for doing it in 3D.
